Tansley Electrical, as part of Milburn Electrical, was involved with the build of Dunedin’s Forsyth Barr Stadium. Forsyth Barr was designed by an international architecture firm, Populous in association with a local firm, Jasmax. With 20,000 permanent and 11,000 temporary seats, the stadium is unique in that it’s a permanent, covered stadium with natural turf (or grass). It has four stands, five lounges and 21 corporate suites. The results speak for themselves…one of the most innovative and imaginative structures within New Zealand. Check out the photos…we are sure you will be impressed!
The materials made to construct the building have a low environmental impact and often energy-saving features. The roof is made from a lightweight polymer, all seating areas use natural ventilation. Where possible, internal areas use mechanical ventilation instead of air-conditioning and all the lighting and electrical installations were specified to conserve energy.
