The Centre for Innovation is a major laboratory and research facility at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. This Iconic building is the hub for innovation and new technology within the University of Otago.
The architecturally designed building houses the University spin-out and start-up companies, Research & Enterprise and Otago Innovation Limited. It’s the centre of the University’s commercialisation activities.
The materials and shape of the building made the construction a challenge. Electrical reticulation was to 18 separate suites and 3 large common areas each with their own switchboards. An extensive Building Management System controls the heating and lighting for maximum energy efficiency.
